If you have been sued and you dispute owing the money, you have to file an Answer with the Court by a deadline which is usually stated on the Summons.
In Law Divisions cases and foreclosures, it’s 35 days from the day the Complaint was delivered to your home.
If you are unable to discuss it with us before that deadline, file your own Answer with the Court and then talk to us.
We do not take actions in Small Claims Court but we can give advice about representing yourself.
If we think a private attorney will handle your suit without charge to you, we will try to find one.
We only do bankruptcies for people who are not judgment proof, which usually means people who are earning wages that could be garnished, but we will discuss with any eligible client.
